Shenzhen, a coastal city bordering Hong Kong in South China, features subtropical marine climate with plenty of rain and sunshine. As the South China Sea buffers its climate, so cold snaps are not common. In the spring Shenzhen is relatively dry, and then it has a warm and wet summer of 6 months, and the temperature can occasionally reach over 35 degrees Celsius. The rainy season lasts from May to September, with an annual average rainfall of 1,608.1 mm and occasionally hit by typhoons from the east. Autumn is

temperate and mild. There is a bit of cool breeze in the winter, but it is just warm enough to do anything. Long but not overly hot summers and short but relatively warm winters make Shenzhen the ideal tourist destination in any season. The best time to visit Shenzhen is really August to September when a series of celebrations are held. Additionally, the China Hi-Tech Fair is held in Shenzhen from the 12th to the 17th of October every year. It is advisable to make reservations well in advance of your visit to Shenzhen as the area is particularly busy during these days.
