Huanghuacheng Great Wall

Huanghuacheng (Yellow Flower) Great Wall, located 60 KM north of Beijing, is one of the popular Great Wall sites for hikers in Beijing. The Great Wall was built in Ming Dynasty and located at Jiuduhe Town, Huairou District,  some 40 miles from the Beijing City. It is 10,800 meters long with the mountains, rivers and lakes along or besides the wall. The Wall got its name because of the large quantities of blooming yellow flowers around it during the summer time and it's the best time to visit the Wall.

The Wall joins with JuyongguanPass and Badaling in the west, and, Mutianyu Great Wall in the east. Huanghuacheng provides a challenge as it has no stone steps or no single smooth path like the ones found at Badaling and other sections of the Great Wall. The Great Wall was constructed in 1575 and took many years to finish the construction. The entire section of wall comprises of six forts, six passes, twelve beacon-towers, and thirty-two guard towers. Among them, Yaoziyu Fort is the best preserved.
