  • Guangdong Province is situated in the southern part of China mainland, covers an area of over 180,000 square kilometers. It has 3,368 kilometers of winding coastline, which is the longest in the country. Guangdong faces the South China Sea and surrounds Hong Kong. Long a provincial backwater, the province's economic fortunes changed dramatically when Deng Xiaoping instigated his reforms in 1978. At present, Guangdong is one of the richest provinces in China.
  • The capital Guangzhou was formerly known as Canton to the western world. It is named 'the spring city' because the city is always with green plants and blooming with fresh flowers all years round due to the long summer. Guangzhou is also the communication center of Guangdong with great amount of railways, highways, bridges, multi levels of flyovers etc. The handicraft industry in Guangdong is in the lead in the whole country with a long history and unique features.
