Qinshihuang, the First Emporer of China who unified the other six States during the Warring States Period in 221BC, was buried 40 km away to the east of downtown city. The world's famous Terra Cotta Warriors were discovered in 1974 by some local farmers near Emporer Qin's Mausouleum when they were drilling a water well. It's a pleasant way to cycle out of the downtown into the outskirts and witness the miracle of mankind.
